This is about 9 -12% of total global production. Major exporters are EU, Australia, Ukraine, Canada and UK. US is neither a major exporter nor a major importer. Its export and imports are more or less same. US export mainly the feed barley and imports malt barley. The annual trade of feed barley comprises more than 75% of total barley trade while that of malt barley accounts for less than 25%. China and US being leaders in beer production account for over 60% of malt barley trade. China alone imports 50% while US about 11%. Concerning Outsourcing of the product, a beer company should focus on Malting, Brewing, and Fermentation etc. instead of imports and domestic purchasing of commodities. The commodity should be outsourced not to one company rather to more than one company to have a bargaining power over pricing and also to ensure a uninterrupted supply of barley in case of any unforeseen crisis to keep the brewery running. There can be another outsourcing approach for a new start up Beer Company. With malting being an established process. There are dozens of malting companies in US and hundreds on the globe and malt being a standard product being traded in the market globally. Comparing Marlow of Heart of Darkness and Willard of Apocalypse Now      Whenever books are adapted for film, changes inevitably have to be made. The medium of film offers several advantages and disadvantages over the book: it is not as adept at exploring the inner workings of people - it cannot explore their minds so easily; however, the added visual and audio capabilities of film open whole new areas of the imagination which, in the hands of a competent writer-director, can more than compensate. Heart of Darkness relies heavily on lengthy philosophical and expository passages, as well as some very unusual and complex imagery; â€Å"not the easiest material to rewrite as a screenplay† (Canby, 18). However, rewrite it Francis Ford Coppola did, altering the time and place of the novel from 19th century Congo to 20th century Vietnam. Coppola made an original film, with concepts and ideas taken from Heart of Darkness, rather than making a straight film version of the book. Consequently, there are many similarities and differences between the film and the book. The character of Marlow is renamed Willard in Apocalypse Now. This is noteworthy; the character of Kurtz has the same name in both the text and the film, so why not Marlow? â€Å"This is probably because the character of Kurtz in the film is almost identical to that in the book, whereas Willard is very different from Marlow† (Benner, 34). Kurtz is the person who has disconnected himself from society; he is not tied to any particular era, so his character works just as effectively in the 20th century as in the 19th. Data Analysis Stage 1 The topic I have chosen to explore is motor vehicle crashes involving distracted drivers. â€Å"Distracted driving is any activity that could divert a person’s attention away from the primary task of driving; all distractions endanger drivers, passengers, and bystander’s safety† (http://www.distraction.gov/stats-research-laws/facts-and-statistics.html). Distractions may include, texting, using a cell phone or smartphone, adjusting the radio, and more. I will specifically be covering motor vehicle crashes related to texting and driving, as it is by far the most common distraction on the roads today. I am particularly interested in researching this topic because it is an everyday occurrence that I see individuals carelessly texting and driving not knowing that they are putting themselves, along with everyone else on the road in danger. People simply just don’t understand the true depths of this action.
